Virtual Reality, one of the most powerful tools of current technology, has been implemented in every aspect of our lives. With the new possibilities we have, even paintings which were painted centuries ago, can be recreated in 3D!

Artist George Peaslee recreated one of the most recognizable paintings out there, the “Starry Night” by Vincent Van Gogh, in virtual reality.

“Cool thing about VR is that you can paint in a three denominational space.”

He used a brush that imitated the impressionist style of Van Gogh. In order to recreate the painting, he had to visualize the depth in his mind.

“The essence of the painting is essentially colours that Vincent Van Gogh picked. I wanted to replicate and use that.”

George Peaslee says the colours are the most important aspect in emphasizing the impressionistic style.
