Çağatay Odabaş is a Turkish painter. His posters are on a large scale, but when you approach these paintings closely, you will discover that every poster actually consists of thousands of small, hand-drawn circles.
“My art is heavily influenced by these two favourite activities that I grew up with in the 1980s and 1990s – playing with LEGO pieces and watching movies. I began by choosing movie images to recreate this collection of thousands of movie posters.”
It is then divided into several parts, each by mapping with small circles, which are assigned a particular code, to serve during the dyeing process.
So, as a complicated but fascinating LEGO model, he puts all the pieces together to create these ultra-realistic pointillism masterpieces.
