French artist Miguel Chevalier is inspired by art history and nature, and is best known as a pioneer in digital and virtual art.
He created a virtual reality installation called “Digital Supernova” in France’s Rodez Cathedral.
Chevalier reflected thirty different colored webs of light, with pictures of huge stars bursting. He worked with the artist and astrophysicist Fabio Acero.
The large net of light changes shape to create different and new universes in the cathedral. The components of this artistic structure are affected by each other by expanding and contracting in the breathing rhythm. It also highlights the columns and arches of cathedral by acting in harmony with the structure.
