A “Colour Palace”, a temporary pavilion was designed in London by the collaboration of “pricegore”, an emerging architecture practice and artist Yinka Ilori. Within London Festival of Architecture and Dulwich Picture Gallery, an open design competition was made and “Colour Palace” is the outcome of this competition.
The pavilion is made from thousands of individual pieces of hand painted timber. It is raised on monumental feet and consists of geometric patterns that shift and merge according to viewpoint recalling the fabric markets of Lagos, Nigeria. The structure will remain on the lawn outside the institution’s John Soane-designed building until September 22, 2019.
